HIFU: What is it?
First of all, HIFU is an acronym for High Intensive Focused Ultrasound. It is a unique, innovative technology of
exposure to the deep layers of soft tissue, the so-called SMAS. It's a two-layer structure under the skin, consisting
of a surface layer of collagen, elastin and facial muscles. Together, they make up the framework that supports the skin.
That is why you often see the name "SMAS lifting" or "HIFU SMAS lifting" - it's the technique of influence and the
purpose of the effect combined to give the title to this beauty innovation. Ultrasound anti-age therapy has achieved
what was previously achieved only with the help of plastic surgery.
How HIFU technology works
A HIFU facial uses ultrasound to create heat deep in the skin. This heat damages targeted skin cells and develop
coagulation points in the tissue causing the body to try to repair them. To do this, the body produces collagen to aid
in cell regrowth. Collagen is a substance in the skin that gives it structure and elasticity.
Collagen remodelling leads to a reduction in SMAS volume. Therefore, the initial result is noticeable immediately
after the end of the treatment. As a result, we can see an improved face line, chin or other targeted areas.
Thermocoagulation shots are created at a depth of 1 mm, 1.5 to 16 mm. You can work with the collagen of the dermis,
tighten SMAS and destroy fat. Therefore, you can also perform HIFU for the thighs, abdomen, and buttocks.
The long-lasting effect of the treatment is the stimulation of the formation of regulatory proteins, which leads
to neocologenesis. In addition, tissue temperature resulting from HIFU exposure is optimal for synthesising new
molecules - precursors of skin structural proteins. That leads to a long-lasting result of HIFU on the face and body for up to 2-5 years.
