Fractional RF Microneedling
Benefits of RF Microneedling
Micro-needling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally invasive treatment that has been used for
decades to rejuvenate the skin. A device with fine needles or pins creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin,
which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well
as skin resurfacing. RF micro-needling adds the element of radiofrequency energy to the traditional micro-needling
procedure. The RF energy is delivered via small needles into the dermis. In addition to the benefits seen with the
micro-injury provided by the traditional microneedles, RF micro-needling also delivers RF energy deep into the
dermis further enhancing skin tightening and scar reduction.
How Does RF Micro-Needling Work?
The RF energy heats the underlying layers of skin, causing constriction and tightening of the skin, as well as
the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. Because the RF energy is delivered so deeply, it can
produce faster results that are more dramatic.
Sublime Applicator
The Sublime applicator is designed to heat skin layers with a combination of infrared (IR) and bipolar RF energies to
shorten aged collagen fibers and treat wrinkles for a smoother skin appearance. This needle-less and non-invasive
treatment allows for clinically proven outcomes with minimal downtime.
Sublative RF Applicator
The Sublative RF applicator stimulates new collagen growth and resurfaces the skin by delivering bipolar RF energy to
the skin in a needle-less, fractional manner via an array of multi-electrode pins. This treatment effects in smoother skin
and the reduction of facial wrinkles.
Fractional RF Technologies
Fractional RF systems induce both ablation and coagulation. Small pins sit on the surface of the skin and emit radio
frequency energy into the epidermis. The radio frequency energy creates heat in the skin and simultaneously ablates
tiny channels of the epidermis while creating coagulation around the tiny ablated channels, stimulating a wound-healing
response. All of this is done fractionally (in tiny pin-points), having great effects but not requiring a long time for the skin to heal.
Ablation and coagulation have a combined effect on the skin. New skin grows in the wounded micro-channels while
fibroblasts are creating new collagen and elastin fibers to heal wounded tissue. The new skin gives a refreshed appearance
to the skin overall, and subsequent treatments with appropriate maintenance give excellent, long-term results, comparable
to those of any other skin resurfacing method.
NanoFractional RF is appropriate for nearly any skin type and tone. Energy is delivered in tiny areas, which lowers the risk
of PIH, and it is an energy that creates heat in the skin due to friction, not because it is absorbed by melanin. The number
of treatments needed will depend on how well the patient responds to the treatment and the severity of the skin issues to
be addressed. There is little or no discomfort after the procedure and patients typically return to regular activities within a
day. It's no wonder that micro-ablative skin resurfacing was the number one fastest growing non-surgical procedure in 2017.
Because of its success in dealing with the most common skin concerns, this skin resurfacing treatment is a valuable
commodity to have as part of your clinic offerings.
Delivering a Distinctive Advantage in Short-Pulse Microneedling
With the addition of the Matrix Pro applicator, the Matrix device creates an entirely new category of medical aesthetic treatments.
Dimensional RF
Powered by Dimensional RF, the Matrix system delivers multi-dimensional treatment outcomes. Achieved by leveraging
multiple modalities working at up to 3 depths of the skin, this approach allows practitioners to customize and deliver
precise treatments based on patient needs while creating volume4 and strengthening skin structure.
Depth Intelligence Technology with Impedance Monitoring
Complete with Depth Intelligence technology, the Matrix Pro RF microneedling applicator can deliver up to 3 distinct
user-controlled depth and energy settings in a single insertion, allowing for customized and consistent treatment results.1,
The Matrix Pro RF microneedling applicator takes impedance monitoring to new dimensions by working at multiple depths.
By monitoring start and end impedance, users can adjust settings and technique in real time, resulting in precise energy
delivery throughout the treatment and delivering consistent, customized results.
Thinnest Microneedle Array
The Matrix Pro RF microneedling applicator is equipped with an array of the thinnest microneedles on the market
today,* designed to improve patient comfort, maximize results, and decrease downtime.1.
The Matrix Pro RF microneedling applicator operates with a single-use, disposable cartridge tip, consisting of an
array of 49 (7X7) ultra-thin semi-insulated micro-electrode chamfered needles, with a diameter of only 0.16 mm (34 gauge).

A New Dimension of Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling
Designed to correct, maintain, and restore skin at various stages of the aging journey, this multi-application RF skin platform
features the 3 all-new RF applicators to deliver customized treatments based on patient needs.
Designed to resurface the skin and treat wrinkles, all while creating volume and strengthening skin structure.
How it works
Built on the Power of 3
Creates an entirely new category of radiofrequency.
By leveraging 3 modalities in a single device and working at up to 3 depths with a single insertion, this multi-application
system is radiofrequency, intelligently redefined.
Fractional RF/ Microneedling RF is Radiofrequency microneedling is a cosmetic procedure. It uses tiny needles and
radiofrequency waves to rejuvenate facial skin. The treatment is a form of controlled skin injury. The damage stimulates
the growth of healthy new skin, which can benefit common skin issues like acne scars, wrinkles and many more
Microneedling uses a fine needle to create microwounds, or channels, in the skin. This triggers the production of capillaries,
elastin, and collagen.
If the procedure also uses radiofrequency waves, it's called radiofrequency(RF) microneedling. The needle releases radiofrequency
into the channels, causing additional controlled thermal damage. This enhances the effects of standard microneedling.
This heat metabolises unhealthy cells and fibres, in turn causing stimulation to produce healthy new cells. The result is added
structure, reduced pore size, reduced acne scarring, and overall skin rejuvenation.
The skin that grows back is thicker and smoother. This will give much better results as there are two type of treatment in one.
This can target the following conditions.
Does Fractional RF treatment hurt?
Pain tolerance varies from person to person. By using prescription strength, a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) can help
your discomfort.
Is there a downtime?
Downtime is minimal. You may experience mild to moderate redness, flaking, and slight swelling. These side effects are
completely normal and usually subside within 3-5 days with the correct aftercare. To reduce downtime, we recommend LED
Light Therapy. This will help reduce inflammation and assist with wound healing.
How long the Fractional RF treatment take?
The treatment can take 30 - 45 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
Are there any side effects of Fractional RF?
Typically, radiofrequency microneedling is well tolerated. But like all cosmetic treatments, it may cause some side effects.
Possible side effects include:
dryness
redness
scaling
itching
swelling and bruising
mild acne flare-up
cold sore breakout
These side effects might last for a few hours or days.
